It just had to begin somewhere. MLB’s famous left – fielder “Ryan Braun” is now the only and first player belonging to the Major League’s Baseball team who successfully challenged a suspension ordered to him for testing positive in a drug test. What’s even great is that Ryan Braun’s back just in the nick of time for the spring training. This is where the big question arises; why, in the first place, was he out of the game?
Supposedly, media reports tell that MLB had Ryan’s urine sample which indicated an extraordinarily high level of testosterone. It didn’t just show results of elevated testosterone levels but also indicate that the substances used were more than one. Not one, not two, not three but a cocktail of around five drugs in his urine sample. These testosterone levels are elevated due to the usage of PEDs Performance enhancing drugs also known as steroids. These steroids mimic the synthesis of it parent hormone, the testosterone. Testosterone is what is responsible for proper growth and development of body.
Even if Ryan Braun had taken the drugs, even if it was wrong, he’s the one who will end up with all those side effects of shrinking testicles, heart problems, liver damage and Gynomastia. Gynomastia is the development of male breast tissues, which is also called male boobs. So its basically Ryan’s problem if he’s taking all those drugs. Not just one but a stack of these drug substances. Stacking is when steroid users use multiple substances to get maximum effects of each substance. This also gives rise to multiple dangerous side effects.
Reports show that Ryan Braun technically challenged the drug testing system and apparently it worked. We may never be able to truly find out if he was actually using some PEDs or not. Apparently he challenged the day when the test was taken and when it was sent to the laboratory for testing and the challenge worked and his ruling was overturned.
Though, it would be so silly of him to use a little PED to enhance his game and in the end bear all those lousy side effects. It’s too much risk for someone who’s already a good player.
May be it would be better for MLB to stop banning the use of steroids in the game and let all these players deal with the side effects themselves. They will be able to deal with their problems themselves. After that we can see what impression that gives to public.
But then that would be wrong and unethical right? It will let steroid users take advantage of the high levels of testosterones and play harder and stronger. But they will be dealing with the dangerous side effects themselves so in the end its their loss.
